About JK Hypnotherapy

We experience the world around us through the use of our various senses: touch, taste, sight, sound and smell. It is with one or more of these senses that, often unknowingly, a mental image is formed. That image is linked to an emotion that may be positive, neutral or negative.

Hypnosis is a mental state of heightened, focused attention, to the point where other thoughts are temporarily ignored. Hypnotherapy uses that mental state to change the emotion linked to an image with something else. The skill of the hypnotherapist is to guide clients through a series of scenarios which will allow the sub-conscious mind to 're-learn' what emotions are desired.

Unlike the hypnotism of films and television, hypnotherapy is not mind control. You remain awake, and aware of your surroundings. You can still move if you want to. Think of sitting in a darkened cinema, engrossed in a really exciting film. There are many people nearby who might be drinking their cola or eating popcorn, but you ignore them because your attention is taken up by the events on screen. Well, that's very similar to the feeling of hypnotherapy.

Consultations

Of course, there is a lot more to it, which is why I suggest that you contact me and arrange your free initial consultation. You can ask any questions and I can explain things on a one-to-one basis with no obligation. If you want to bring someone with you for the consultation, that is fine, although they cannot be in the room during actual hypnotherapy.

Clients are seen at my home in normal, comfortable surroundings. Corporate clients can be seen at a choice of venues, including 'on-site' visits for services such as stress awareness and management, or sales motivation and confidence boosting. I also offer training to potential new hypnotherapists.
